Semiya Payasam (Vermicelli Kheer) Ingredients Ghee - 1/2 tsp Roasted Vermicelli - 1/2 cup (125 ml) Water - 1 cup Milk - 1 liter Sugar - 1/2 cup Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp Pinch of cooking Camphor (optional) Roasted Cashew nuts & Raisins Method: 1. In a wide pan, add ghee and roasted* vermicelli. Roast for a minute *if vermicelli is not roasted, roast till its light brown in color and smell a nice aroma 2. Add 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup milk initially. Keep stirring 3. Add again 1/2 cup water and rest of the 1 liter milk. Cook till it thickens 4. Add cardamom powder and cooking camphor (optional). 5. Add 1/2 cup sugar at intervals and cook till it reduces and thickens 6. Garnish with Roasted Cashew nuts & Raisins. Serve it warm or cool.
