Bacterium causing stomach cancer may play role in colorectal cancer

New Delhi, Oct 11 (ANI): According to a study, the risk of certain colorectal cancers may be increased by a bacterium known for causing stomach cancer. The study associated antibodies to Helicobacter pylori (H pylori) and increased risk of colorectal cancers while not exactly establishing the bacteria as a definite cause. After an analysis of more than 4,000 cases of colorectal cancer, the researchers found a significant correlation between colorectal cancer incidence and those infected with a virulent strain of H pylori.
