In Delhi, You can find some of the magnificent world heritage monuments and it's architectural beauty. Delhi being the capital of various kingdoms has been blessed with many age old structures and heritage monuments. Some of the famous heritage monuments of Delhi are:

Humayun Tomb: A World Heritage Monument os New Delhi India

The famous heritage monument of Humayun Tomb is located on Mathura-Lodhi road. It was built 9 years after the death of Humayun in the year 1565 A.D. by Bega Begam. Famous Chaarbagh (Garden squares) is located around the tomb. Many graves of Mughal rulers are located in the vicinity if Humayun Tomb of Delhi.

UNESCO declared it World Heritage Site in 1993.

Opening and Closing time of Humayun Tomb of New Delhi: It remains opens everyday from sunrise to sunset.

Entry Fee: For Indians it is Rs.10 and for foreigners it is Rs.250

Qutub Minar: A Heritage Monument of Delhi

The historic monument of Qutab Minar Delhi is a 73 m-high tower whose construction was started by Qutab-ud-din Aibak in 1193. Iltutmish, his son-in-law added three more storeys and Firoz Shah Tughlak constructed the last storey. It is located in Mehrauli area of South Delhi.

The Qutub Minar of Delhi: UNESCO declared it World Heritage Site in 1993.

Red Fort: Must to Visit the World Heritage Monument of Delhi India.

Mughal emperor Shah Jahan constructed Red Fort monument of Delhi in the year 1648 AD. Delhi Gate and Lahore Gate are the to famous gates of Red Fort.

UNSECO declared it as a World Heritage Site in 2007.

The famous heritage monument of Red Fort Delhi India has following parts:

  1. Diwan-i-Aam: It is an open area
  2. Diwan-i-Khas: It was a hall for private audience
  3. Nahr-i-Behisht
  4. Rang Mahal
  5. Moti Masjid

Famous Peacock throne was once placed in Diwan-i-Khas before Nadir Shah took it.

On 15 August, Prime Minister of India addresses the nation from Red Fort.

Visit to Purana Quila: One of heritage monuments of New Delhi, India.

Purana Quila or the Old Fort is situated in Indraprastha. Humayun built this fort and later it was modified by Sher Shah Suri.

It has three gateways Talaqui darwaza or the forbidden gateway, the Humayun Darwaza and Bara Darwaza.

Nowadays a spectacular sound and light show is also held every evening in Purana Quila.

Opening and Closing time of Purana Quila: It remains open all days.

Entry Fee: For Indians it is Rs.5 and for foreigners it is Rs.100
