Communist Party of India (Marxist) is one of the leading political parties in India. The party has large concentration in West Bengal and Kerala. It has produced some of the oldest political leaders in Indian political history. V. S. Achuthanandan is one of them being the 20th chief Minister of the state of Kerala. Born in 1923 Achuthanandan has a record of political career for many years with the commencement in 1938. He has been nominated to the state legislative assembly of Kerala in 1967, 1971, 1991, 2001, 2006. Achuthanandan is the most experienced political leader in CPI (M) in Kerala. He has served as the veteran opposition leader and in a constructive as well as creative way has used his power for the best of the denizens of the state. The chief results of his political career as legislative member and chief minister of the state lies in his sincere efforts and devotion to the duty to give a high sounding effect of his labor and transform his state in a complete developed state with accelerating growth in all the fields. V. S. Achuthanandan has been subjected to large-scale criticisms due to being involved in some controversial matters of the state. He was to be suspended on the charge of brining protest against the party with his supporters. Despite all these things Achuthanandan is the grand old man of Communist Party of India (M) in this state for his outstanding role in the politics of the state and his social works for the betterment of his own state.
