Alfred Bernard Nobel was a great Swedish chemist, industrialist and diplomat of high repute. His chief excellence lies in the invention of great explosive called dynamite. Before his death Nobel bequeathed all his finance, share and deposits to the Swedish kingdom along with a request to award and honour those people who have achieved outstanding accomplishment and excellence as well as glory in certain fields like peace, literature, physics, chemistry and medicine. From that time onwards the prize has been awarded. It was first given in 1901. But in the year 1968 another branch was included in it ? is economics that was first given in 1969. Royal Swedish Academy is the chief of this Nobel foundation by which it selects 5 particular groups consisting of five members of high fame and knowledge in the respective field to select the scholars who will be awarded. The Nobel Prize is yearly given. The names for recognition remain complete secret even to the candidates and it is announced in the month of October and the award is given on 10th December of every year, on the death anniversary of Alfred Nobel. The Nobel Prize can be awarded to 2 or 3 scholars in a particular field. A certificate of excellence, a gold medal on both sides of the coin and a grant of US $1.5 million is given to the recipients. This international recognition has set up an epoch in honour, and reverence in the world for its highest fame and reputation.
