Desai has been grounded on severe criticism for some causes as his son used the power of his father to achieve his own ends. Desai had cantankerous relationship with Research and Analysis Wing and Desai used to say it a ploy of Indira Gandhi and demanded the close down of all its activities after he assumed the office of the Prime minister.
