Everything you need to know about Morarji Desai: news, reviews, in-depth analysis, opinion and more

The soul person in India to be the recipient of the highest civilian award of two countries-Bharat Ratna of India and Nishan-e-Pakistan of Pakistan is he, Morarji Desai. This exemplifies the inner qualities of this political face that by virtue of his credentials to carry out the burden of a nation has been very efficient in bringing this country India to the door of growth and development. Morarji Desai, the ace politician was born and brought up in Bombay presidency in 1896 in a Brahmin Hindu family as well as educated in Wilson College, Bombay had a distinctive vision of life and morality through which he could understand the inner meaning of life and desired to devote his whole life in Indian Independence movement for the cause of the nation. Despite his large part in the freedom movement Morarji Desai stayed in politics of India after the independence and served the country from 1947 till his death. He was the only dominated politician and candidate to be the prime minister from 1967 to 1970. Morarji Desai was a true Gandhian follower and followed each of his principles at best and a great social reformer and activist. Desai has been grounded on severe criticism for some causes as his son used the power of his father to achieve his own ends.
