Five injured in mine blast in Jharkhand

Ranchi, May 14 (IANS) Five people were injured in a mine blast in Jharkhand's Dhanbad district Thursday, an official said.

 

The incident took place in a colliery of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) in Dhanbad district, the official added.

 

 

'A blast took place when miners were drilling to blast a mine at Ramkanali colliery of BCCL. Five miners sustained injuries in the blast,' V.K. Jha, deputy general manager (safety) BCCL told IANS over the phone.

 

 

'The injured miners have been admitted to a hospital. We will probe the incident,' he added.

 

 

Dhanbad is some 240 km from Ranchi.
