Kullu (HP), May 12 (ANI): Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi has again slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) last election campaign 'India Shining' whereas Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi trained guns on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's leadership.
Gandhi and Modi were addressing separate rallies in Kullu region of Himachal Pradesh.
Gandhi reiterated his stand on BJP's 'India Shining' campaign of 2004 and said that majority of people, especially the poor, could not understand what it means.
"In 2004 they gave you a slogan 'India Shining'. And we gave you a slogan 'government of common man'. 'India Shining' was in English and half of the population in India could not understand it. And when they were asked where did they bring it from, they said they saw it on television," he said.
Meanwhile, Modi said that no senior Congress leader is ready to accept Manmohan Singh as their prime ministerial candidate.
"Congress party announced Manmohan Singh as their prime ministerial candidate. But not even a single leader is ready to accept him as their prime minister. Because not even a single senior leader of Congress party has ever said this expect Sonia ji' and her family," said Modi.
All four constituencies of Himachal Pradesh, namely Hamirpur, Kangra, Mandi and Shimla will go to polls in the fifth phase of polls on May 13. (ANI)
