The Tri-Continental Film Festival 2008 is scheduled to be held in Panaji, Goa from July 25 to July 30. The event is going to take place at Marquinez Palace in ESG Complex and International Centre, Dona Paula.

The festival's theme is based upon the violation of Human Rights. All the films selected for the festival represent this theme. Only 21 films were selected out of a total of 135 films that filled the submission forms. The festival aims at educating the commons about Human Rights by spreading awareness amongst masses.

A six-minute animal film The Mall on Top of my House, directed by Aditi Chitre is to be screened along with foreign films at the 6-day festival and will serve to be the main attraction of the festival. The film deals with the displacement of a fisherman due to rampant land reclamation.

The festival is expected to be a grand success and Gayatri Konkar of Moving Images said she hopes the festival will draw a bigger audience. Every screening will be followed by a discussion.

Tri-continental Film Festival is organised by Moving Images, Goa, Entertainment Society of Goa and International Centre in collaboration with Breakthrough New Delhi.
