Lucknow, Nov 27 (IANS) A seven-year-old girl has been killed by a leopard in an Uttar Pradesh village adjoining the Katarniyaghat forest reserve, an official said Thursday.
'The leopard Wednesday night strayed into the Gaurapipra village in Bahraich district and pounced upon the girl while she was moving in the fields,' divisional forest officer R.K. Singh told IANS by telephone.
He said forest officials have been sent in different directions of the village to catch the leopard.
In August, a leopard had attacked four people and killed one in the Sujauli village of Bahraich district, about 270 km from here.
