DBS Bank appoints Rahul Johri as Head, consumer banking

DBS Bank, one of the leading banks in Asia, has announced Rahul Johri as the new Head for its Consumer Banking division in India. Rahul would also be a member of the Group Consumer Banking Executive Committee at DBS Bank.


Rahul brings with him extensive experience of Consumer Banking, having spent seventeen years of his career between ANZ Grindlays, Standard Chartered Bank and Barclays Bank. Prior to joining DBS Bank, Rahul worked with Barclays Bank, India and held the post of Business Head - Retail Liabilities. He was a part of the start-up team for Barclays Bank (GRCB), India and also developed the alternate channel strategy for the retail bank.

He started his career with ANZ Grindlays bank, India as a Management Trainee, and went on to undertake regional roles in Branch Banking and Wealth Management. In his last assignment with Standard Chartered Bank, Rahul was the Global Head for the NRI Business from January 2005 to December 2006

Rahul holds a mechanical engineering degree from IIT, Kharagpur and is a postgraduate from XLRI Jamshedpur. He will play a pivotal role in the growth of DBS Banks’ Consumer Banking service and strengthen its position in the market.
