July 11: Just imagine about our Bollywood macho man Hrithik Roshan as Rambo. Isn’t it exciting? Yes it is, as of now he is the only hero in Bollywood with great muscular features that certainly resembles the Sylvester Stallone image in Hollywood Rambo series. No doubt Stallone has created a special picture over those super hero flicks as Rambo and Rocky. But Hrithik, after the success of Krrish and Dhoom2, has also live up to the mark to be the next Indian version of Rambo.
Reportedly, Hrithik is going to play Rambo in a Hindi movie set to direct by non other than the most unconventional Bollywood director Ram Gopal Varma. This will be the answer to Hollywood’s those larger than life image played by Stallone.
The series Rambo based on the character created in David Morrell’s novel “First Blood” is a huge hit world wide. The first part came in 1982 with the same name as the novel following the second in 1985 and third part in 1988. And the fourth one titled “John Rambo” is expected to release somewhere 2008. Keeping this in mind, the Indian version would be a great idea to catch Indian as well as global market.
Currently Hrithik is shooting for Jodha Akbar directed by Ashutosh Gowariker and soon after the script is finalized by Varma, they will start shooting for Rambo, according to sources.
The story plot is believed to be the same as in Hollywood’s Rambo as a US army commando but here as the Afghani boy who grew up to be the successor of Rambo. There is no doubt for the success of the movie if the popularity of Hrithik and the name Rambo counts but let’s see whether it would be a complete action pact or with Bollywood mark up song and dance.
Few years back it has been rumored that Hrithik is going to play the brother of Sylvester Stallone in a part of Rambo series but that didn’t materialize. But if this project gets its due then no doubt Hollywood producer will soon line up at Hrithik’s door.
Recently Hrithik has signed a three movie deal with Adlabs and this movie may be a part of the deal. Hrithik in both acting as well as physical dynamics surely is the right person to portray Rambo and even better to Stallone. Meanwhile, Hrithik is also going to act in a movie named “Kismat Talkies” to be directed by Zoya Akhtar.
