Man mowed down by speeding bus in Delhi

New Delhi, Nov 17 (IANS) A man was mowed down and another suffered injuries after a speeding bus hit them in Delhi, the police said Monday.

 

The accident took place around 10.30 p.m. Sunday at Dabri area of south-west district.

 

 

The bus first hit a car near Sitapuri bus stand in the area after which the driver lost lost control and hit a pedestrian. The bus later got rammed into the wall of an empty house.

 

 

"The pedestrian identified as Raj Kumar was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead. The driver of the car, Nishant, suffered minor injuries in the incident and was discharged from the hospital after primary medication," said a police officer.

 

 

Raj Kumar, a native of Bihar, was working as a labourer in Mayapuri. He was going to his rented house in Mahavir Enclave at the time of the accident.

 

 

The accused driver, however, fled from the spot. The police have impounded the vehicle and a hunt is on to nab the driver.
