In a deal of its own kind, Indian millionaire and owner of reliance group of industries, Anil Ambani has signed a deal of Rs 1,500 crore with the sizzling Bachchan family. Besides live shows, the deal includes film production, television series, reality shows, internet and mobile contents.
Earlier, Ambani's Reliance Big entertainment group was in talks about a film-making joint venture with Steven Spielberg, the Hollywood director.
As the Ambani group wishes to penetrate into the entertainment industry and global media through reliance group, it seems to be a fruitful step that will aid the recognition of talents while working across the media. The sector is thus undoubtedly to grow at a much faster pace with the support of one of the India's largest industrial corporation.
Although much details are not been provided uptil now, there is an estimation that seven films would begin release by the first half of the next year. Some of the Bollywood's renowned directors like R. Balakrishnan, Sujoy Ghosh, Rohan Sippy and Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi are signed up for the direction of the films.
The terms and conditions of the joint venture are lenient and Amitabh's company AB Corp which is to facilitate the execution of the projects has every right of refusal.
