Chandigarh, Oct 28 (IANS) To attract more religious tourists to Kurukshetra, the Haryana government has planned a laser show on Lord Krishna propounding 'The Bhagwad Gita' during the legendary war of the Mahabharata, said to have been fought in the area.
During the show, the 'virat roop' (a magnified form) of Lord Krishna will be displayed on the waters of the holy Brahmasarovar (Pond of Lord Brahma) at Kurukshetra, 130 km from here.
The decision for a laser show was taken at a meeting of the board of governors of the Kurukshetra Development Board (KDB). Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda presided.
Hooda directed officials to put up the laser show at the earliest and to spruce up Kurukshetra and its surroundings to increase the state's revenue from religious tourism.
'The laser show would be a unique one in the country,' Haryana Finance Minister Birender Singh said.
A Rs.350 million flyover is also being planned in Kurukshetra town for better traffic movement.
