Four missing after Himachal avalanche found dead

Shimla, Oct 18 (IANS) Four people who were missing following an avalanche in Himachal Pradesh's Chamba district Wednesday were found dead Saturday, a police official said.

 

'Four bodies were recovered today (Saturday) by a team comprising India Reserve Battalion personnel, district administration officials and villagers near Saach Pass in Chamba district,' Chamba Superintendent of Police R.S. Negi told IANS.

 

 

He said the victims were caught in an avalanche while crossing the Saach Pass.

 

 

The victims have been identified as Dev Dutt, Sanjay Kumar, Devi Singh and Dhayan Singh.

 

 

Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal and Governor Prabha Rau have expressed grief over the accident.
