Bhubaneswar, Oct 18 (IANS) Gobinda Chandra Das, former Orissa advocate general and author of over a dozen books, died here following prolonged illness, family sources said Saturday.
Das died in a hospital in Cuttack town, about 26 km from here, Friday night. He was 78.
Das, the author of popular novel 'Amabasyara Chandra', is survived by his wife, a daughter and a son.
Born in Tisania village in the coastal district of Jajpur, Das served twice as the advocate general of Orissa and as president of the Orissa High Court Bar Association.
Besides penning many novels, he also wrote travelogues, short stories and poems.
