Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh), Oct 11 (ANI): Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, L K Advani today denounced violence against any religion or place of worship as unacceptable.
Addressing a rally at Passi Ghat in Arunachal Pradesh Advani said, "Vandalism and violence against any religion or place of worship shall not be tolerated and is highly condemnable."
Advani further said that if there were differences it should be sorted out through dialogue.
The BJP leader is touring different states of the country as part of his ongoing programme of Vijay Sankalp rallies.
Before the rally, a delegation of Christians of Arunachal Pradesh met Advani and sought his intervention in stopping attacks on Christians in Orissa and Karnataka.
In the wake of violence against Christians, pressure is mounting on the Central government to ban Bajrang Dal.
On October 8, the Union Cabinet had an indepth discussion on the impact of the anti-Christian violence in Orissa and in other parts of the country and a number of Ministers has demanded the ban of Bajrang Dal.
However, the government had deferred its decision on the issue. (ANI)
