Chandigarh, Oct 8 (IANS) A faction of the Haryana Olympics Association (HOA), recognized by the state government, Wednesday said a court had recognised it as the only legally recognized body.
'A court in Panchkula Wednesday has refrained the other body run by Abhey Singh Chautala, son of former chief minister Om Parkash Chautala, and his team from acting as the office-bearers of HOA,' P.V. Rathee, who heads the parallel body, told mediapersons here Wednesday evening.
The court also refrained them from using the banner of HOA in any manner at any forum, especially for conducting state games or representing the state in the national games, Rathee said.
He added that the body led by him would conduct the state games Nov 10 in Sonepat town, near here.
On the issue of recognition from the Indian Olympics Association (IOA) that is enjoyed by the faction led by Chautala, Rathee said: 'If the supreme body of IOA still supports them, it will be a clear contempt of the court order.
'We are the only certified body of HOA and we will take part in the IOA elections Oct 10 in Pune as authorized members from Haryana,' he said.
