London, Jan 04(ANI): Luis Suarez's mother has expressed her concern following his son's eight-game ban for making racist comments against Manchester United defender Patrice Evra.
Sandra Diaz, who stays in the Uruguayan capital Montevideo, believes her son's ban can make him a target for the black players.
She also claimed that she is convinced that her son isn't a racist and it's humorous for her when others label him as a 'racist', The Sun reports
"I laugh when they call my son racist. Nothing could be further from the truth. I'm afraid now when he comes up against a black person, especially because they're going to go looking for him," said Sandra Diaz.
She also believes that Suarez was wrong on his part to make a disrespectful gesture towards Fulham fans and he needs to calm down a bit.
"I know my son. I know he has to calm down a bit with things like the salute he made to rival fans. But he's no racist," she added. (ANI)
