Dubai, Jan 3 (ANI): Muscat will play host to a tribute concert for ghazal singer Jagjit Singh, who passed away on October 2011.
Jaswinder Singh, a prominent classical and ghazal singer, will be singing ghazals and popular Bollywood songs sung by the late maestro.
The event will be held at Le Grand Hall, Al Falaj Hotel on January 4 by the Indian Social Club, Gulf News reported.
Jagjit Singh was regarded as the most successful recording artist outside the realm of Indian film music.
He sang in Punjabi, Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Gujarati, Sindhi and Nepali languages, and was also awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2003.
Jaswinder Singh is the son and student of music composer Kuldip Singh. He has been awarded 'The Young Ghazal Maestro' by the Indian Music Academy.
The young singer also specialises in Sufi and Punjabi songs. (ANI)
