London, Jan 1 (ANI): Actress Jennifer Hudson is all set to testify against her former brother-in-law, next month, over the alleged murders of her mother, brother and nephew.
The Oscar winner has been called as a witness against William Balfour, 27, who has denied shooting dead Darnell Donerson, 57, Jason, 29, and seven-year-old Julian.
Chicago prosecutors want the 30-year-old to give evidence about domestic violence involving the estranged husband of her sister, Julia.
Defence attorneys have claimed that the forensics work was flawed and say fingerprints found at the scene were never processed, casting "more than a shadow of doubt" on Balfour's involvement.
A friend of the star had, on Saturday, said that the possibility of Balfour walking off free on a technicality after the 2008 slayings is haunting the star.
"The prospect of the case falling down on a technicality is beyond her worst nightmares," the Daily Express quoted the friend as saying.
Hudson lives in Chicago with fiance´ David Otunga and two- year-old son David Jnr. (ANI)
