New Delhi, Dec 28 (ANI): Oman's Minister for Defence, Sayyid Badr bin Saud bin Harib Al Busaidi, arrived in India today to strengthen military ties with India.
The Minister received ceremonial Guard of Honour on his arrival at the South Block that houses India's Defence Ministry in New Delhi on Wednesday.
Busaidi will be holding delegation-level talks with the Defence Minister A K Antony.
India and Oman have used a joint investment fund of 100 million dollars to step up two-way investment.
In a bid to step up strategic ties with the Gulf, India has decided to expand its bilateral military cooperation with Oman in fields ranging from maritime security and anti-piracy measures to joint training and combat exercises.
Over 550,000 people of Indian origin are employed in Oman. India and Oman also share robust trade relations. India's trade with Oman was worth 4.5 billion dollars in 2009. (ANI)
