Chowrad, Dec 27 (ANI): The estranged brothers, Mukesh and Anil Ambani have reached their ancestral village of Chorwad in Gujarat for their father, Dhirubhai Ambani's 80th birth anniversary on Wednesday.
Both the brothers along with their mother Kokilaben, would be inaugurating a memorial house in memory of their late father on the occasion.
Speaking to mediapersons, spouse of Late Dhirubhai Hirachand Ambani, Kokilaben Ambani said that when Mukesh and Anil Ambani's opinions were taken, regarding building of a memorial in the memory of their father Dhirubhbai Ambani, their reaction was overwhelming.
"I called up Mukeshbhai (Mukesh Ambani) and Anilbhai (Anil Ambani) and told them about the preparations being done for the proposed memorial in the memory of their father in Chorwad. They were elated with prompt replies that they would be very happy to contribute their assistance for the cause," said Kokilaben.
She further added that bond of love between the brothers undoubtedly existed.
This is for the first time, in all these 15 years, that the entire Ambani family would be coming together to celebrate the birth anniversary of late Dhirubhai Ambani.
Nita and Tina Ambani, respective spouses of the Mukesh and Anil Ambani, along with sisters, Dipti Salgaonkar and Neena Kothari are expected to be present on the occasion.
The security preparation have been beefed up in Chorwad village and the locals are excited to witness the occasion.
"Anil, Mukesh and Kokilaben Ambani are going to visit Chorwad village for two days, so we are well prepared as far as the security is concerned. We have Gujarat's SRP soldiers who are well equipped and few of them are from security agencies as well. Every possible safety measures are being taken for the security of the people visiting this place," said B R Dangar, a sub-inspector at Chorwad Police Station.
The programme would be commencing at the temple of goddess Chorwadi for two days that includes a religious event.
The Dhirubhai H. Ambani Memorial House has been built at the place where Dhirubhai Ambani had spent his childhood days. The spiritual guru of the Ambani family, Rameshbhai Oza would be inaugurating the memorial.
The memorial has an auditorium which would screen a movie based on Dhirubhai Ambani's life.
The Ambani brothers split after Dhirubhai's death in 2002 sparked a feud that led to a division of the family business empire in 2005. In 2010, a Supreme Court ruling brought the brothers back to the negotiating table, where they agreed to scrap the non-competition pact that had been a source of conflict. (ANI)
