Kanpur, Dec 27 (ANI): Villagers in Kanpur clashed with cadres of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) injuring atleast four RSS cadres in the incident that occurred at a training camp.
It is reported that on Monday a large number of villagers forcefully entered the RSS campus with batons and attacked the students who had to lock themselves in rooms to avoid the attack.
"Large numbers of local villagers mainly women and youth stormed into the campus with batons etc and conducted a one sided attack. The children ran for cover and some of them locked themselves up in their rooms. This is the incident which occurred and a lot of damage has been curbed due to locking up of children in their rooms," said Prem Lata Katiyar of Bharatiya Janata Party.
Injured cadres are receiving medical treatment at a nearby hospital.
However, eyewitnesses and some villagers revealed that the clash broke after some cadres misbehaved with a girl from their village.
"Our sister had gone to the field to pick coriander plants when she was eve teased by the boys (RSS cadres) from the terrace. When my brother protested then they attacked and abused him. In retaliation my brother also threatened them of dire consequences after which they threw stones and bricks. Later when my father went there to control the situation he was also attacked with batons and knives," said eyewitness and villager, Rahul Singh Yadav.
The local administration has taken up the matter and investigations to reveal the correct cause of clash are being looked into. (ANI)
