Agartala, Dec 26 (ANI): With the aim of creating employment opportunities, the Tripura Government is providing tribal students of Nadannagar training in different jobs for the hospitality industry.
Most of these students are school dropouts and are from poor and marginalized families in the region.
he training aims to provide these students with some skill sets that will help them get jobs.
"I studied till class 12 and then tried to get a government job but was unsuccessful. Then I got to know about this training and I joined here. I am very happy and have learnt many things," said Rekha Debbarma, a trainee.
The current batch of 50 students is being taught about food and beverage theory, housekeeping and about the hospitality industry.
The duration of the course is about 3 months.
Skilled trainers are taking classes with tailor-made curriculum to impart skills that are in high demand in the market.
The students are also being taught the basics of computer applications.
Another batch of 30 students is being trained in marketing and retail sales sector.
"It is focused on the employability of the below poverty line youth and this organization has all over the world proved that they are reliable. And they have employed over 5000 youth at this moment and this is the first time when we are organizing such program in Tripura," said Davis Aricatt.
The training program has been organized under the aegis of Ministry of Rural Development that runs around 125 skill-training centres in 25 states to train 40,000 students in next three years. (ANI)
