Batamaloo (Jammu and Kashmir), Dec.24 (ANI): Terrorists on Saturday shot dead a ruling National Conference worker.
Bashir Ahmad Bhat, a shopkeeper by profession, was shot in the head by militants as he was leaving home for work, police said.
Bhat was rushed to SMHS Hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead.
Police said the assailants had fled from the scene after killing Bhat.
This was the second shooting incident in Srinagar in less than a fortnight.
Militants had made an abortive bid on the life of Rural Development Minister Ali Mohammad Sagar at Nawab Bazaar in old city on December 11.
One constable was killed while three others were injured in the attack.
The Jamiatul Mujahideen outfit had claimed for that attack. (ANI)
