US confident about Pak re-opening NATO supply route

Washington, Thu, 22 Dec 2011 ANI

Washington, Dec 22(ANI): The Pentagon has expressed confidence that US-Pak ties can be improved, and hoped that Islamabad will re-open NATO supply route on a border with Afghanistan.

Pakistan had earlier sealed its two border crossings in Chaman and Torkham after the November 26 NATO airstrike that had killed 28 soldiers in Mohmand Agency.

Pentagon spokesperson George Little said the US have "stockpiles" of their supplies and added that the troops were "well supplied," The News reports.

Little hinted that U.S.-Pak ties had been fragile since the US Navy Seals' raid, which killed Al Qaeda chief killed Osama bin Laden in Abbottabad on May 2. (ANI)
