Imphal, Dec 22 (ANI): People in Imphal protested against the killing of a water supply caretaker Soram Ibomcha and his son Geetchandra by the cadres of Kangleipak Communist Party-Mobile Task Force (KCP-MTF).
Women staged a sit-in-protest at roadside in the city.
Another militant outfit KCP-MC also called for 24 hours general strike against KCP-MTF for killing innocent people.
It the first time in Manipur, that a militant outfit called a general strike for killing innocent people against another militant outfit.
All commercial establishments and markets were shut. Protesters also prohibited movement of people and vehicles at Keirao, Irilbung and Bamonkampu areas.
There was no report of any untoward incident in area.
Ibomcha and his son were abducted on the night of December 7 and later they were shot dead by KCP-MTF (Kesho Meitei) on December 16.
The shops remained closed as the market looked deserted in Thoubal area. (ANI)
