Gadarpur, Dec 18 (ANI): At least twelve people were killed and fifteen were injured when a bus fell into Nahal river due to the thick fog in Gadarpur, Uttarakhand.
Speaking to mediapersons, Police Inspector of Rudrapur, Uttarakhand R.K Sharma described the incident and said that the passengers were coming back after attending a religious ceremony on Saturday night.I was informed that a DCM bus fell into Nahal river as it slip over the bridge because of the dense fog. These people are the devotees and returning from a religious ceremony and are the inhabitants of Vilaspur, Rampur in Uttarakhand and Ratanpura, Rajasthan. The injured were taken out with the help of the police and locals," said Sharma.
He further added that the dead included nine women, two men and a minor and more than 15 have been injured who have been sent to the nearby hospital.
According to official reports, two injured persons are in critical condition.
The identification of the deceased is yet to be done. (ANI)
