Pretoria, Dec 13(ANI): South African cricketer Marchant de Lange has reckoned that he would fully use the opportunity to deliver his best if he makes an international Test debut against Sri Lanka.
Lange has been included in the South Africa squad for the first Test match against Sri Lanka.
"It happened so quickly (selection for the Proteas). Everything is still new for me, but if I get my opportunity, I will definitely use it well," Sport 24 quoted Lange, as saying.
Lange had earlier hogged the limelight with his outstanding performance for South Africa "A" against Australia,
His first official practice with the squad at his home ground would help ease his nervousness ahead of his debut.
Lange said bowlers Morne Morkel and Dale Steyn have provided him with valuable insight into his game.
"The guys have treated me well, there is a lot of experience all over. In the bowling department Dale (Steyn) and Morne (Morkel) have assisted me there, and if I need extra advice, I go to the batsmen and get some thoughts there," he said.
He hopes to gain maximum information from players and support staff that he grew up idolizing even he does not make it to the final eleven.
"I looked up to him (Steyn), he is one of my role models and it is exciting to get the opportunity to play with him," De Lange said. (ANI)
