London, Dec 9 (ANI): Warner Brothers have revealed that an extra on the set of the new Batman movie 'The Dark Night Rises' has died during shoot in New York City.
The unidentified male extra died due to heart attack during rehearsals.
"The studio can confirm that a male extra passed away while on a break during an off-set crowd rehearsal for a sequence with several hundred extras in early November," the Daily mail quoted a Warner Brothers representative as telling the New York Post.
"The production crew fully cooperated with the authorities' investigation, which established that he died of natural causes," the rep added.
None of the leading actors - Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway- witnessed the death.
The tragedy has extra impact because Heath Ledger, who played The Joker, died in 2008 after the filming of 'The Dark Knight.'
He was just 28-years-old and the movie was released after his death.
The Christopher Nolan thriller was shooting near Wall Street in New York City when the casualty occurred.
The Screen Actors Guild has also confirmed the death.
"We have been told that the actor died of a heart attack, the actor in question was not working under a SAG contract," SAG spokeswoman Pamela Greenwalt said. (ANI)
