Sikh slaps Sharad Pawar outside Delhi's NDMC Centre

New Delhi, Thu, 24 Nov 2011 ANI

New Delhi, Nov.24 (ANI): Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar was slapped on Thursday by a Sikh man at the NDMC Centre in Delhi.

The man, who was later identified as Harvinder Singh, was heard shouting, "Sab ke sab chor hai saale (everybody is a thief)"

He added: "Aur kya karoon, jab dekho...ghotala, ghotala, ghotala (What else can I do, whereever and whenever, all we here is corruption, corruption and corruption)".

Media reports said Singh had also assaulted former telecom minister Sukhram in court on the day he was sentenced to five years' imprisonment in a corruption case.

"I thought the man was a journalist and coming forward to ask a question," Pawar said.

The attacker believed that Pawar was responsible for the rising inflation in the country. (ANI)
