Chennai, Nov. 23 (ANI): Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, who appeared before a special court here today in connection with the Disproportionate Assets (DA) case, completed answering 1,339 questions framed by the judge.

AIADMK supremo appeared for the fourth time since last month before special judge in connection with the case.fter the proceedings, the Special Public Prosecutor, B. V. Acharya, said that Jayalalithaa had claimed that the case was politically motivated and she had been framed in a fake case at the insistence of her political rival, Dravida Munnettra Kazhagam party.

"The entire case against her is fabricated at the insistence of her political rival, DMK (Dravida Munnettra Kazhagam) party which was in power in the year 1997 and therefore this is a politically motivated case," he added.

Acharya further said Jayalalithaa has filed 'a very detailed' statement along with several documents in addition to her deposition. All the questions i.e. 1339 questions' answers were completed and she has answered all the questions. Now, today she has also filed a very detailed written statement in addition to the answers which, she has given," he said.

Till Tuesday, Jayalalithaa had answered 1047 questions asked in the court over her role in acquired properties.

The court has postponed the next hearing of the case on November 29 for which Jayalalithaa would not be required to be present.

The Supreme Court had on October 19 directed Jayalalithaa to appear before a designated Bangalore court, after the government of Karnataka assured her that all measures would be taken to protect her.

The trial of the case, allegedly involving accumulation of assets to the tune of over Rs.66 crore by Jayalalithaa between 1991 and 1996, was shifted to Bangalore by the apex court after DMK leader K. Anbazhagan filed a petition pleading that the AIADMK Government might otherwise influence the course of the trial. (ANI)
