Islamabad, Nov 23 (ANI): Lawyers of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) have filed a constitutional petition with regard to the 'memo controversy' in the Supreme Court.
According to The News, the petition has filed under Article 184-3 of the Pakistan constitution.
According to sources, PML-N has made President Asif Ali Zardari, Chief of the Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, former Pakistan Ambassador to the US Husain Haqqani and Pakistani-origin American businessman Mansoor Ijaz party in the case.
The Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief Lt. General Ahmed Shuja Pasha and Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir have also been made party in the case.
In his petition, PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif referred to Mansoor Ijaz's article in the British paper and stated that Zardari and Haqqani denied the claims initially, therefore, the court should play its role in the matter to safeguard national interest. (ANI)
