Manmohan Singh to address Maldivian Parliament today

Male, Nov 12(ANI): The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, and his delegation will hold bilateral talks with their host counterparts in Maldives to reinforce the cordial bilateral relations.

 

Dr. Singh had arrived in Male, after the 17th South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Summit in Addu City, on Friday.

 

He was received at the Male airport by Maldives Vice President Mohammed Waheed Hasan.

 

The objectives of the Prime Minister's visit are to further India's close bonds of friendship and solidarity with the Maldives other than reviewing the current status of the existing bilateral relations.

 

A number of agreements are likely to be signed during the visit.

 

Dr. Singh would also be addressing the People's Majlis, the Parliament of Maldives.

 

Earlier, on Wednesday, Dr. Singh had held bilateral talks with Maldives President Mohamed Nasheed in Addu City. (ANI)
