Pushkar (Rajasthan), Nov.10 (ANI): Foreign tourists arrived in large numbers at India's largest cattle and camel fair in the town of Pushkar in Rajasthan amidst tight security on Wednesday.
The fair, which kicked off on November 2, is known worldwide to present a brilliant combination of camel rides, various sporting events, Indian handicrafts, and mouth-savouring food.
Set against the backdrop of Rajasthan's picturesque landscape, the annual fair offers a lifetime experience for tourists.
An awestruck tourist from Japan described his experience at the fair as 'incredible'.
"It is very nice and a good experience for me as it is my first time to come here. All lot of foreigners come here, it is a very exciting festival. It's amazing and incredible! Its like India, its incredible!" said Vadita, a Japanese tourist.
Camels are a major attraction for foreign tourists as they enjoy rides on them and on camel carts. Tourists are particularly mesmerised by the camel dance.
The fair attracts hundreds of animal traders and buyers from other states also.
It is also an occasion for Hindu pilgrims to converge for a holy dip in the sacred Pushkar Lake, as it is believed that it 'washes away the sins of a lifetime' and pay obeisance at the only temple in the world dedicated of Lord Brahma. (ANI)
