Melbourne, Nov.8 (ANI): Legendary Australian leg spinner Shane Warne has said that one of the reasons for him agreeing to play Cricket Australia's Twenty20 Big Bash tournament is to give a chance to his three children - aged 14, 12 and 10 - to see him play cricket.
"They really can't remember Dad playing cricket that much, so that will be a bit of fun," the Courier Mail quoted him, as saying.
Warne will return to the MCG to play for Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League, five years after playing his last Test match.
The 42-year-old cricket legend will play the entire season with the Stars, deciding to "do it right" after originally agreeing to play just two matches to help launch the new Melbourne team.
Warne will play for a modest fee of under 100,000 dollars, declaring money was not the reason he had signed on.
"I had a few other offers, but what attracted me most was the team that (captain) Cameron White and (coach) Greg Shipperd had put together and the MCG has been my back yard for 20 years," Warne said at the announcement at the MCG today.
"It's something special here, I love playing here. People here have always got behind me when playing for Australia and Victoria and the MCG was something that really swayed me," he added.
"It's got absolutely nothing to do with money. if it was about money, I'd still be playing IPL." (ANI)
