Hong Kong, Oct 28(ANI): Pakistan has defeated South Africa by 23 runs in its first match in the Hong Kong Super Sixes tournament.
Chasing Pakistan's score of 110 run in 5 overs, the Proteas were all out for 87 runs, The News reports.
Pakistan's Sohail Tanvir scored 38 runs in only eight balls, while Sharjeel Khan hit 36 runs in eight deliveries and Umar Akmal scored 27.
Pakistan, who finished runners-up to Australia in the Super Sixes last year, are placed in Group C with South Africa, India and Hong Kong.
Sri Lanka, India and Ireland also registered victory in their group matches on Friday. (ANI)
