Lahore, Oct 8(ANI): An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Pakistan has confirmed the interim bail of an accused allegedly involved in the March 2009 terror attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore.
The ATC Judge passed the order on an application by the accused, Muhammad Ibrahim, who was granted interim bail earlier in the case, the Daily Times reports.
The court directed the accused to submit a surety bond of 100,000 rupees to get bail.
In his application, the accused contended that he was innocent and wrongly involved in the case.
On March 3, 2009, a bus carrying Sri Lankan team members was attacked with sophisticated weapons, rockets and hand grenades at Liberty Chowk in Lahore.
All the attackers managed to escape.
Malik Muhammad Ishaq of Lashkar-i-Jhangvi, Ashfaq, Mohsin, Javed Anwar, Obaidur Rehman and Ibadullah, who had been arrested in connection with the case, have been released on bail. (ANI)
