Koraput, Oct 7 (ANI): At least 17 people were killed and over 25 others got injured when a tipper truck carrying them overturned in Orissa's Koraput District on Friday.
The accident occurred near the block headquarters town of Dasmantpur, about 550 km from Bhubaneshwar. The victims were crushed beneath the vehicle after it overturned.
The local people rushed to the spot soon after the accident and made all efforts to pull those, who got trapped inside the vehicle.
The vticms were returning home after celebrating Dussehra at a nearby place.
While the injured are being treated at nearby hospitals, the seriously injured have been shifted to the district hospital. (ANI)
