Moradabad (Uttar Pradesh), Oct 7 (ANI): Lawmaker and actress Jaya Prada has said that India has to get together to fight against the menace of corruption.
Speaking to mediapersons after praying for eradication of widespread corruption in the country on the auspicious Dussehra, Prada said: "Today the entire country is grappling under the issue of widespread corruption and militant attacks. On this auspicious day I hope that good wins over the evil and that the country is corruption free."
"We all vow to fight against the menace of corruption and this is something that we also learn from Lord Rama. We are together in India's struggle to get rid of corruption," she added.
Dussehra is celebrated across the country to commemorate the victory of Lord Rama, who is considered as 'Maryada Purushottam' over the ten-headed mythological demon king Ravana.
Rama's victory over Ravana is depicted as the triumph of good over evil. Dussehra also symbolises the triumph of the warrior Goddess Durga over the buffalo demon Mahishasura. (ANI)
