Surat, Sep 30 (ANI): With an aim to boost mass awareness against female infanticide, the members of saree, garment and jewellery traders initiated a special campaign in Surat.
They are endorsing their packing materials, books and letter pads with slogans to promote curbing of female infanticide.
"It is a healthy message that would be given out to the country so that female infanticide can be stopped. Most of our trade and industry in Surat are women-centric so we want that a woman's existence should remain. Only then will our means of income would survive. Also a healthy message would go out to the entire world," said Dilipbhai Patel, cloth trader of Surat.
He disclosed that all plastic and paper carry-bags including parcel and delivery challans would be bearing anti female infanticide messages
"How will be sell sarees if there are no women?', he added.
The nationwide campaign to save the girl child would begin from October 5. (ANI)
