Dimapur, Sep 28 (ANI): In an endeavor to help the children to develop their skill and personality, continuous efforts are being made in Nagaland to attract school children to take up theatre to promote the art form among the youth in the region.
Students of eight different schools of Dimapur participated in the recently held skit competition organized under the theme "Think globally, Act locally".
It aimed at spreading awareness about the environment and the ever-increasing menace of pollution.
Hundreds of students thronged the Christian Higher Secondary School in Dimapur for the event that was organized under the aegis of All Nagaland Private Schools' Association (ANPSA), Dimapur unit.
"It is a good platform for students. Providing such a platform will help the children to develop skill and also personality, which will help them in their future," said ANPSA President Bithungo Kikon.
"We are happy with such an event. I am grateful to the organizer for giving us such an opportunity to display our talents and for bringing different schools together and bringing unity among us," added Kenitoli, a student.
There is no shortage of talent in Nagaland, but prolonged militant activities in the state have come in the way of artists showcasing their skills at the national level.ut efforts are being made to bring about a change and the Northeast Zonal Cultural Centre Dimapur under its theatre 'Rejuvination Scheme' is working hard to promote theatre in the region.
