Gaddafi's daughter claims he is well and fighting against "traitors" in Libya

Tripoli , Sat, 24 Sep 2011 ANI

Tripoli, Sept 24 (ANI): The daughter of Colonel Muammar Gaddafi has claimed that her father is alive and fighting on the ground in Libya.

Aisha Gaddafi also attacked the country's new rulers and called them "traitors" in a telephone message aired by Syria-based Arrai television.

"Remain reassured, your great leader is doing well. He carries weapons and is fighting on the fronts. You can be proud of your leader," she said, addressing the "resistant people" of Libya, The Telegraph quoted her, as saying.

Aisha, who fled to Algeria with her mother and two brothers late last month, asked people in Libya to "rise" against the new rulers, saying members of the National Transitional Council were "traitors who have broken their oath of allegiance" with Gaddafi.

Gaddafi's whereabouts are still not known. (ANI)
