Dharamshala , Tue, 20 Sep 2011 ANI

Dharamshala, Sep 20 (ANI): The Tibetan Prime Minister-in-exile, Lobsang Sangay, has announced the portfolios of new members who have been inducted in the cabinet during the monsoon session of the 15th Tibetan Parliament in Dharamshala.

Addressing mediapersons on the occasion, Sangay said the new Kalons (ministers) would use their educational expertise and experience to effectively administer their respective departments.

"As I promised during the campaign that I will appoint Kalons (ministers) of experience, education, person of integrity, dedication. So the colleagues I have here, all represent and reflect, all those qualities that I was looking for in Kalons," he added.

Sangay also highlighted that people from all age groups have been inducted in his cabinet and no bias has been made on the basis of gender.

"All of us will follow the advice and vision laid out by His Holiness Dalai Lama for all these years. We are also dedicated to restore freedom for Tibetans and return of His Holiness Dalai Lama to Tibet. I chose each one of them based on qualities, experience and education that can contribute towards effective administration of each of the departments," he added.

Briefing about the state of dialogue process with the Chinese government, Sangay said that the deadlock could only be broken if the Chinese government decides to co-operate and find plausible solutions.

"From our side, we abide by the middle way policy and we are willing to negotiate with the Chinese government anytime, anywhere that's what I have said, so the lack of progress in dialogue is not because we are not making efforts, we have made and we will continue to make and its lack of reciprocity from the Chinese government side," said Sangay.
