Russell Crowe set to play cop in 'Les Miserables'

Washington, Sept 9 (ANI): Russell Crowe will be playing the role of police inspector Javert in his upcoming flick 'Les Miserables'.

The 47-year-old actor will be playing police inspector in Oscar-winning filmmaker Tom Hooper's forthcoming musical movie, which will be released in December 2012, Contactmusic reported.

The movie tells the tale of a man who steals bread to feed his sister during the 19th century French rebellion, spending years suffering in prison and dealing with the consequences of the theft when he is released.

Hugh Jackman will be playing the lead role of Jean Valjean in the film, whereas Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway and Paul Bettany are still in talks for the lead role. (ANI)
