London, Sep 1(ANI): The Turkish Grand Prix has lost its place on a revamped Formula One schedule for 2012.
According to Sky Sports, the Istanbul Park track was earlier included on a provisional 21-race calendar despite its current contract having expired.
The calendar will now revert to a 20-race season, with India replacing Turkey and Bahrain returning to the schedule.
This year's Bahrain Grand Prix was delayed, reinstated and then finally axed amid political unrest in the Gulf country.
According to the new calendar approved by the FIA on Thursday, the season will begin with the Australian Grand Prix on March 18 and end with the Brazilian Grand Prix on November 25. (ANI)
