New Delhi, Aug 29 (ANI): Anna Hazare's key aide Manish Sisodia has termed the veteran social activist's crusade against corruption as the 'victory of people' who came forward to fight for the cause.
Cutting across barriers of age and gender, thousands of people gathered at India Gate last night to celebrate the success.
"People's power have been accepted in this democracy. It is very important that people's demand should be heard. So, it's the victory of the people who have thought for the cause," Sisodia said.
On being asked about how they plan to move ahead with the anti-corruption campaign, he said: "The campaign is on. There are a lot of things to be done. One of them is to meet the Standing Committee, present our draft, and express our viewpoint. But ultimately it's the public opinion that will prevail."
Anna broke his fast on the 13th day at the Ramlila Maidan in Delhi as huge crowds witnessed and celebrated the victory of people's power. He ended his fast after Parliament adopted the Sense of the House resolution on his three key points on Saturday.
Two five-year old girls from Delhi offered coconut water and honey to him.
After breaking his fast, Anna thanked the people for their support, saying: "I thank the countrymen, my brothers, sisters and kids for the fight against corruption."
After breaking his fast, Anna was taken to Gurgaon's Medanta hospital for a medical check-up. Sisodia later said that although Anna's BP was normal, doctors had advised him "not to venture into the Sun as it could have an impact on his health." By-Mahashweta Das(ANI)
