Bokaro, Aug 28 (ANI): Security forces arrested a Maoist named Ram Kishen Kisku alias Udit Ji in Suarkatwa area near Jharkhand's Bokaro District on Sunday.
Acting on a tip off, Bokaro Police along with Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Hazaribagh police conducted the operation.
Talking to mediapersons, Laxman Prasad Singh, Deputy Inspector General, Bokaro, said that the arrested Maoist was involved in many criminal activities like bomb blasts, laying of road mines and creating social unrest in recent past.
"We recovered the sacs filled with bullets in Suarkatwa and also a wire following the statement given by the persons, whom we arrested and we have also recover a pistol from him," said Singh.
Meanwhile, police also defused landmines placed by Maoists in Pilpilo area of Navadi region in Jharkhand.
The landmines were placed under the bridge with a mission to attack the police troops.
Singh also said that arrest and recovery of landmines provided boost to the moral of the police department.
"Bokaro police has once again emerged successful, there is a place Pilpilo in Navadi area, we have recovered six landmines and all of them were very powerful and we have defused them," he added. (ANI)
